First, I still don't know what the heck the product does. I don't know what product it is that men sprinkle on themselves, then rub all over that makes them feel like tossing their shirt around and lounging on a recliner and caressing their faces in pleasure. One of the funniest things I've ever seen! What the hell was that a commercial FOR anyway? If that was a men's product, why not show Bronson chillin' with a half naked chick, instead of all the creepy gay porn imagery? First Mr.Bronson smiles at the piano player, then puts his hand on the doorman's shoulder which causes the doorman to have a laughing fit. Pipes are removed, Mandom is poured on the flesh, horses are ridden and guns fired, so where are all the women. Could it be - no - yes - could it be the piano player coming towards Bronson in the last scene? I don't know what the ad execs were thinking, staging the spot with Bronson all by himself in an empty bar gazing at the piano player and thinking "all the world loves a lover" to himself (did the piano player inspire such musings?) -- that doesn't exactly say "macho jet setter," it says "pathetic!" This was the first Japanese commercial to feature a Hollywood actor. The song "Mandom: The Lovers of the World" was sung by American country singer Jerry Wallace and went to #1 on the Japanese charts in 1970. BIG payday for Charlie.
